15 October 2019
Room 2115, Building 65, Avenue Campus, University of Southampton SO17 1BF

Event details

Part of the 2019/20 series of Philosophy Research Seminars

Having settled a question—and so, having come to know the answer to that question—one sometimes faces versions of three potentially unsettling questions: (1) How do you know? (2) Why do you think so? (3) Are you sure? I discuss some specific issues that arise with respect to the capacities of knowers to deal with each of the three questions.

This seminar will be chaired by Dr Lee Walters.

The room for this talk has limited capacity, and seats will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
