We run evening classes and study days for people who want to learn about this fascinating subject, but do not have the time to study for a degree.

Evening Classes

We have an expanding programme of evening courses, which run for 12 weeks during university term time. These courses are designed to develop your knowledge and interest on a particular theme, and are accessible and open to all regardless of prior level of study - all you need is enthusiasm! The courses are taught by experts in their field, with a passion and enthusiasm for their chosen subject. We aim to provide a wide variety of courses across the university.

Study Days

We hold regular, one-day cultural events consisting of a series of short talks on a particular theme that are led by experts from within the Philosophy department. These days focus on a particular theme, but include a broad range of topics and issues for debate, and consist of a series of short talks led by experts from within the relevant department. Discussion and the opportunity to ask questions are a key feature of study days, so we like to keep the groups small and informal to encourage interaction. Or, simply come along to listen to the latest ideas on a subject. Book your place early to avoid disappointment.
