I am a PhD student at the University of Southampton, specializing in moral and political philosophy.

Before coming to Southampton, I did a MRes Philosophy at the University of Reading and a BA in Philosophy and Politics at the University of Bamberg. I also spent a year studying philosophy at each the University of Bochum, and the University of Prince Edward Island.

More recently, I held a PhD fellowship at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (May-June 2018), working on the ethics of risk and uncertainty.

Research interests

I work mainly on the philosophy of harm and intergenerational ethics. Questions I am interested in include: Can we distinguish doing from allowing harm to future people? How strong are moral reasons against harming? When is it wrong to risk harming others, and can we permissibly offset such risks?
I have further research interests in moral uncertainty and the ethics of risk.
