Booking information

Thank you for your interest in booking the Planeterrella. Below, there are details on how bookings work. Click 'Book Now' to access the booking form and arrange a visit.

 

What you can book:

 

• Between three and six shows on one day.
• Shows last between 45 minutes and one hour.

 

Preference will be given to schools or venues within an hour's drive of the University of Southampton. Please note that it will take around half an hour to set up the Planeterrella, which is important when timetabling a visit.

 

Requirements/Terms

If possible we request that you give a short pre-visit questionnaire to the class(es) which will be seeing the Planeterrella. This is so that we can evaluate how successful our visit is at engaging your students. We will give preference to schools who are willing to do this the questionnaire.

Some of our demonstrating team have DBS/CRB checks, but not all. The team are all fully trained and are aware that they should not be left alone with the students.  However, we ask that a teacher is always present. The teacher present is also responsible for behaviour management while the show is in progress.

The equipment we bring is mounted on a trolley and is too heavy to carry, so we require that the room/hall used for the shows has step-free access. A projector is needed as part of the show is delivered form a computer, and the Planeterrella demonstration itself will be more spectacular if the room has blinds or curtains so that the ambient light level can be low.
