Social Sciences student impresses financial company, Aviva
Second year Economics and Politics student Matthias Kunz has taken top honours in a competition for UK university students run by major insurance group Aviva.
His gold award included prizes of £500 cash and a six week paid internship with the company. Matthias had to write an essay on the merits of a career as a financial adviser to win a place in the final, then he impressed judges in an assessment day in York which involved a group exercise and an interview.
“Working as a financial adviser is one of the options I’m considering as a career so winning this competition was very satisfying,” he says.
Angela Seymour-Jackson, intermediary and partnerships director at Aviva, adds: “The Aviva Future Adviser Programme is making it easier for firms to attract high-calibre graduates by raising the profile of the sector, and encouraging graduates to pursue a career in financial advice.”
Three students from the University of Southampton's Management also won silver and bronze awards in the competition.
