DBS Checks (previously known as CRB)

Your programme requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS) in order for your offer to become unconditional. You need to apply for this as soon as possible after you have made University of Southampton your firm choice on UCAS. Please follow the instructions below to obtain an application form for the Enhanced disclosure.

Once you receive the Enhanced DBS application form - please complete and return the original to us at FELS Admissions Team, University of Southampton, Room 4107 Building 37, University Road, Southampton, SO17 1BJ. Please return within 7 days upon receiving the application from the DBS office. Please note do not return directly to the DBS.  Your form will be checked against the documentation you have already provided and authorised for payment by the Admissions Team.

Please note that if you were able to provide your original identification documentation at the selection day you will not be required to send it to us again unless requested by the Admissions Team.

Any delays in returning your completed DBS application will hinder the progression of your offer being made unconditional - this will also impact on enrolment and the attendance of placements.

The University will not keep a copy of your DBS certificate.

IMPORTANT

Once you have received the certificate please do not forget to email or send a copy to the admissions team. Make sure that you keep the original copy of your enhanced DBS certificate safe as you will need to show your original certificate during induction week and when you attend placements.

If you have any questions, email the Admissions team.
