We are pleased to let you know that Professor Harm van Marwijk from the Brighton and Sussex Medical School will deliver a seminar entitled ‘How to ‘normalize’ mental health issues in GP conversations’.

 

Professor Harm van Marwijk is Head of the Department of Primary Care and Public Health of the Brighton and Sussex Medical School and a sessional GP at a ‘deep-end’ practice for the 1% most deprived in England. He focuses on improving connections, in care, in teaching and in research. He supervises postgraduate and undergraduate GP teaching. He has also co-authored 254 papers in PubMed (Web of Science H-Index 40). His current research focus is on discussing medically unexplained symptoms (‘contested diseases’) and the resilience of young families, using co-design and co-production methods.
