Health and Safety training of staff and students has the following requirements: (i) understand their health and safety responsibilities (ii) ensure they are competent to work safely
The CHSG is set up and resourced to:
- Advise on what H&S training is required for specific roles
- Set the content of core H&S training
- Provide H&S management training
- Provide advanced H&S skills training within available budgets
- Coordinate the provision of core H&S training at the University level
- Manage systems for the delivery of the University wide eLearning (CBT) for an introduction to H&S and Display Screen Equipment (DSE)
Heads and Directors of Professional Services are responsible for ensuring that systems are in place which:
- Identify training needs
- Deliver training
- Maintain records
To assist with this the Safety and Occupational Health team coordinates Health & Safety training for managers at the following levels:
- Senior Managers - such as Deans and Directors
- Researcher Leaders
- General Managers
- Office
