Public Engagement and Outreach

This course offers a package of public engagement training for postgraduate and post-doctoral researchers from any discipline. Training is delivered in partnership with the University's central outreach team and two local secondary (high) schools. The training will enable you to develop knowledge and key skills in this exciting, enjoyable and expanding field. You will also have an opportunity to consider the impact of public engagement with research activities. After completing the course, a participant may be invited to apply for small funds and on-going support to develop a public engagement activity related to their research (normally within the 'Learn with US' programme).

"The course really made me think about things I had not thought about before - how do you engage with the public and people who don't actually research in your field?  What works and what doesn't?" (Participant on a previous course - see more comments below)
