Mentoring

The University is committed to supporting mentoring and, in collaboration with associates across the University, is transforming the approach to staff learning and development and creating a community and culture of learning in which continuous professional development is prioritised for all. The University's mentoring schemes contributes to this culture by seeking to enable individuals to reach their potential by linking them to the support of an experienced colleague.

To best facilitate this, the university’s generic mentoring scheme is under review. This is being led by Prof. Shelley Parr, as Director of the Centre for Higher Education Practice (CHEP), and Sarah Marshall, as Head of Leadership and Management Development in HR.

If you would like to be involved in this review, contact s.j.parr@soton.ac.uk or s.l.marshall@soton.ac.uk.  In the meantime, we are unable to accept any new registrations.  Faculty based schemes continue to operate in Medicine and Health Sciences.
