Research Data Management

The value and importance of research data as a recognised research output in its own right is growing, as is the potential for re-use.

Governments and Funders are now placing increased emphasis on making data freely available wherever this is possible, especially where it underpins research assertions and where the research has been publically funded.

This session will look at:-
• general principles of how to manage your research data;
• planning using a data management plan (DMP) with reference to Top10 Checklist and MRC template;
• discuss the possible implications related to your choice of software, storage locations, file formats;
• data storage and sharing options available from iSolutions and support offered;
• information security;
• data deposit and your supervisees thesis.

Led by: Sandy Mackinnon (Business Relationship Manager), Isobel Stark (Research Data Development Manager) and Dorothy Byatt (Research Engagement Librarian)
