I enjoyed the content of the teaching, it always kept my attention and the lecturer’s style made the course more engaging.

Why did you choose to carry out your postgraduate study at Southampton?

I chose to study at Southampton as they are well known for delivery a high quality course. It was recommended by my colleagues and I have studied at Southampton before.

What is the academic support that you have received like?

I have found all lecturers to be approachable. I was fully informed of how to access support if I needed it. My personal tutor (Sharon Pettit) was very understanding when I had some anxieties about an assignment and also helped me to access the support provided in the library for academic writing (as the workshops advertised were often in the daytime when I would be working).

What is it like studying here?

I found Southampton to be a comfortable and encouraging learning environment. I feel very blessed to have had such inspiring lecturers, who role-modelled a good balance between professionalism and having fun.

What have been your Southampton highlights so far?

My highlights include engaging in experiential tasks around campus and meeting such supportive peers.

What are you enjoying most about your course?

I enjoyed the content of the teaching, it always kept my attention and the lecturer’s style made the course more engaging. Questions were encouraged and you genuinely didn’t feel concerned that you would be judged for asking a question.

What are you hoping to do after you complete your postgraduate study?

I am now a CBT therapist and plan to continue to treat patients with anxiety and depression and hope that I will progress in my career to manage a clinical caseload and become a manager.
