Research interests

I am interested in how self-enhancement and self-protection relates to memory. My past research has focus on the self-protective reduced recall of negative feedback for the self (mnemic neglect). I have also conducted research regarding the tendency of positive autobiographical memories to retain their emotional charge better than negative autobiographical memories (fading affect bias) and how this phenomenon relates for example to romantic relationship specific memories. My current research projects include the concept of nostalgia, the sentimental longing for the past.
