Dr P Kenneth Gordon is Visiting Lecturer in Cognitive Therapy (p/t) within Psychology at the University of Southampton.

I am a former consultant clinical psychologist and accredited cognitive-behavioural therapist with experience in both NHS and private practice. I first joined the University in 2001 as Programme Lead for CBT training and I continue to teach on that programme. My current academic interests include well-being and therapy supervision.

I am a consultant clinical psychologist , now in private practice after many years as an NHS service lead, with clinical responsibilities in adult mental health, and interests in OCD, personality disorder and addiction. I am also accredited by BABCP as a cognitive behavioural therapist, trainer and supervisor.





Research interests

Recent research has covered:

  1. The role of magical thinking in obsessive-compulsive disorders
  2. Supervision methods in cognitive therapy
  3. Assessment of cognitive therapy skills
  4. Computerised CBT.

My post is part-time (one day per week) and linked to the Diploma in Cognitive Therapy, where I teach and supervise.

Postgraduate teaching and skills development in areas related to CBT. Examples assessment, cognitive therapeutic techniques, interventions for OCD and personality disorder and CBT supervision.
