Event details
CBT significantly reduces the number of suicidal acts, symptoms and negative core beliefs in individuals with borderline personality disorder in comparison with usual NHS treatment for BPD and is considerably cheaper. CBTpd has gone on to be applied to other groups such as antisocial personality disorder and to prisoners in a DSPD unit.
Workshop participants will learn the following: Adaptations of the CBT model to personality disorders, formulating a case within the model and how to share this with patients, how to work on underdeveloped behaviours and develop new adaptive beliefs. Participants will also update their knowledge of the evidence base for psychological treatment for BPD and ASPD.
