Unique new MSc Foundations of Clinical Psychology launched

Published: 3 April 2012

Psychology is offering a new programme which sets the profession of Clinical Psychology in an international and European context.

The MSc Foundations of Clinical Psychology, due to start in October 2012, provides an introduction to second and third wave Cognitive Behavioural Therapies and Leadership and Management skills, with students being encouraged to adopt a critical and multi-cultural perspective.

Home students will gain an appreciation of international professional issues and international students will gain an understanding of how to apply the principles of Clinical Psychology to developing services in their home countries.

Dr Therese Allan, Academic Director for the Doctoral Programme in Clinical Psychology comments: “We are excited to be launching such a unique programme that sets the profession of Clinical Psychology in a European and international context, which hasn’t been done before and will offer students employability in an international market. This is going to provide a rich study experience for students who will be taught by our outstanding staff in the Psychology academic unit and experienced NHS clinicians.”
The closing date for applications is 15 August 2012. For further information and how to apply please visit the programme overview page
