Event details
This talk presents a new conceptualization of gratitude as involving a life orientation towards noticing and appreciating the positive in the world, and examines how this orientation relates to well-being and social life.
Fifteen studies are presented which show (a) gratitude is strongly related to well-being, (b) this relationship is causal, (c) the mechanisms through which this relationship operates, (d) how gratitude naturally develops, and (e) how gratitude can be increased therapeutically to improve body image, and decrease anxiety and depression.
