Event details
The advantages of delivering interventions that are not constrained by diagnostic boundaries are clearly recognised.
I will report on our development and evaluation of interventions closely informed by Perceptual Control Theory (see pctweb.org). Our approach is ambivalent in its emphasis on the different waves of CBT and other bona fida psychotherapies, and applied across populations from the general public through to secondary care. Modalities include individual therapy, groups, interactive computerised therapy, computer-guided exposure, and self-help. The philosophical and methodological implications of the contemporary science of closed loop feedback control will also be discussed.
