This seminar will explore why health psychologists should consider appearance when developing, evaluating or implementing patient-centred interventions, using the example of a new intervention (PEGASUS) which aims to facilitate shared decision-making and improve patient satisfaction with treatment.
Speaker information
Professor Diana Harcourt , University of the West of England. Professor Harcourt is the co-director (with Prof Nichola Rumsey) of the Centre for Appearance Research (CAR) at UWE, Bristol. Her research interests focus on the psychosocial aspects of appearance including those associated with cancer, burns and genetic conditions. She is a chartered Health Psychologist (HPC accredited) and on the editorial board of the journal Body Image
