Research interests

My research is broadly on emotions and particularly directed towards discovering the psychological dynamics of nostalgia. For example, what are the psychological effects of nostalgia on people? How nostalgia helps people cope with distressing situations? What are the psychological processes involved in the creation of nostalgic memories? I am also interesting in how people satisfy their core psychological needs (e.g., needs for self-worth, belongingness and meaning in life) to protect or enhance their psychological well-being.
