Research project: Parenting with Anxiety: Helping anxious parents raise confident children

Currently Active:
Yes

This is a randomized controlled trial to prevent anxiety disorders in children at risk of developing these.

This is a randomized controlled trial to prevent anxiety disorders in children at risk of developing these. The online intervention will be for parents (who themselves identify as having anxiety problems) to help prevent their children (aged 2-11 years) from developing anxiety disorders.

Child anxiety will be the primary outcome, 6-months post randomization.

We will use a 'dismantling' design to examine which elements of the intervention have most impact, and for whom, and what factors moderate this. We will conduct sub-studies to examine processes in the intergenerational transmission of risk, and mechanisms mediating this.
