PPS EDI Consultation

PPS is pleased to announce the first step in our EDI plans. We are running this consultation to gain insight into our membership and academic partners thoughts about the current EDI of our activities and intiatives. The consultation will be running until the 2nd of November.

In July this year, the UK Government released their Research & Development Roadmap. They recognised that EDI (Equality, Diversity & Inclusion) is vital to research and research culture, in particular when it comes to the quality of research and its impact. PPS champions these values and is proud of all the academics who have worked with us to turn their research into evidence informed policy impact. Further, in September this year, the Doctoral College hosted a webinar around diversity in academia, asking if we are 'treating diversity..equity, [and] inclusion as an add on...or are we treating it as the foundation or infrastructure which we build on?'.

We have decided to run this consultation to seek insight from our membership and academic stakeholders as an audit on the current EDI impact of our activities, opportunities and intiatives. We have already made a number of changes to make our work more accessible, such as including subtitles in our promotional videos, and plans for language translations of relevant policy briefs. The consultation will allow us to take more informed steps in regards to inclusivity and accessibility of all our activites, as well as identify any gaps we may have within this.
