Event details

In this interactive workshop, you will gain confidence and practical knowledge on how you can best integrate equality, diversity and inclusion values in your policy impact. You are not expected to have any prior specialist knowledge in equality, diversity and inclusion or policy impact, but a general understanding will be helpful. During the workshop, the trainer will talk on why these values and this topic is vital for policy making and policy impact, and provide some practical examples on easy ways to ensure you’re taking these into consideration. Alongside this, the workshop will encourage you to examine power structures and how they fit into your own research and policy impact work, and how to respond to this. This workshop is not intended to capture everything in this space, but it will provide a good starting point for those wishing to learn and more importantly, do, more. By the end of the workshop you will ❖ Explore why understanding Equality, Diversity and Inclusion is vital for policy impact ❖ Gain a better understanding of the current landscape and what this might mean for future policy making ❖ Understand and practice using some tools in accessibility and inclusion for policy impact
