Jackie Arnold from the Climate Coaching Alliance will be interviewing Public Policy|Southampton's (PPS) Dr Wassim Dbouk , who attended the COP28 meeting in Dubai.

Wassim is currently researching the use of mindfulness in shifting mindsets around the climate emergency. He’ll talk about what climate coaches need to know about the challenges facing delegates as they move on from the COP, what’s affecting the research and activist community, and what support young, indigenous, and under-represented and most affected groups most need from us.

The Political Pod welcomes newsletter readers and any CCA members who were at COP28 to join with their perspectives and on how we coach from here.

About Wassim Dbouk

Dr Wassim Dbouk is a postdoctoral researcher in marine and maritime policy at the Univeristy of Southampton, with a background in maritime law, a broader interest in sustainable development, and an expertise in translating research into policy-informing evidence.

He participates in PPS where the core objective is to 'change the world for the better' by engaging policymakers with evidence produced at the University. The unit aims to achieve this through building and maintaining strategic partnerships with local, national and international policymakers.

He is also currently involved in a multi-disciplinary research project as part of the Industrial Decarbonisation Research and Innovation Centre (IDRIC) where he is researching the legal and regulatory aspects of the transport of CO₂ to support the implementation of the UK Government's Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) plans.
