Dr Harry Annison is Associate Professor in Criminal Law and Criminology at Southampton Law School, Southampton University. This response is based on the research project ‘Exploring the Secondary Pains of Indeterminate Imprisonment: The case of IPP families’. This project was co-led with Dr Rachel Condry (Centre for Criminology, Oxford University). Policy briefings and a number of scholarly papers will be published from late summer 2018.
