Local Evidence Catapult programme with Hampshire County Council (HCC) 2024

PPS is seeking applications to its Local Evidence Catapult programme with Hampshire County Council’s (HCC) public health team. The opportunity is open to PhD students and Post-Doctoral researchers from the University of Southampton with a background in topics and methods related to health including but not limited to public health, medicine, psychology, medical statistics, global health and social sciences. We would also encourage PGRs and ECRs from traditionally under-represented groups in the UK academy to apply for this role.

Selected candidates form the University of Southampton will be awarded £2k to produce a report, a slide deck and presentation, which summarises the findings of the review or stakeholder analysis conducted as part of the programme. The questions assigned to the fellows will be based on questions provided by HCC related to pressing policy challenges in the region. Catapult Fellows will present their findings to senior public health leadership and officers at the Council in Sept/ Oct 2024 .

The scheme with HCC will focus on specific research priorities in the Hampshire region that fall into one of the following topics - Health Protection (vaccine uptake) and Substance misuse (drug and alcohol treatment services)
