Professor John Denham is the Director of the Centre for English Identity and Politics at the University of Southampton. He was MP for Southampton Itchen from 1992-2015 and the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government from 2009-2010. He has written widely on the governance of England, English devolution, and England’s place in relationship with the United Kingdom. He gave written and oral evidence to this Committee’s inquiry ‘Respect and Cooperation’ and to the Commons PACAC inquiry ‘The Evolution of Devolution’.
