The Professional Doctorate contains a substantial taught component combined with the development of professional skills, placements and training.
Professional Doctorates normally include the name of the discipline in the award title (e.g. Doctor of Clinical Psychology).
A specific approval process is required for these types of programmes through the University's programme validation policy and procedure however, these programmes are all subject to the University's Regulations for Research Degrees and Higher Doctorates and the Code of Practice for Research Degree Candidature and Supervision.
