Focus:  Enhancing Assessment Design and Feedback: Encourage first year students to engage more deeply with material, as this will enhance their knowledge and learning for the rest of their degrees.

In the introductory lecture at the start of the module I introduced the module to the students, including its assessments. The questionnaire was completed using Nearpod. In the penultimate week of the module, I allocated each student to a particular lecture topic, asking them to write a multiple choice question. I gave them a lecture on how to write multiple choice questions and gave them time in the lecture to login to PeerWise and to write a question in a small group. In the final week of lectures, we reviewed the questions that students had written and again I gave students time to write questions of their own. The questionnaire was repeated, this time paper copies were distributed.
