My interest in data driven decision making and risk analytics meant that I was a good fit with the Centre for Risk Research. I enjoy learning about how data available online can be used in statistical models and using these models to predict real-world events.

My research interests have changed over time: I completed a BA in English Literature and then found I wanted to understand more about analysis so I completed an MSc in Marketing Analytics in the School of Management at the University of Southampton. After that I completed an MSc in Web Science at the University of Southampton to develop my programming skills.

I am currently doing a PhD in Web Science which is an interdisciplinary study of the web. As such I work with both the Risk Research group, supervised by Professor Ming-Chien Sung, Professor Johnnie Johnson, Dr Tiejun Ma and the Web Science Institute (Electronic and Computer Sciences, University of Southampton).
