I decided to pursue a PhD at the University of Southampton because of the uniqueness of the resources available at the Centre for Risk Research in addition to the multidisciplinary background of the academic staff that allows me to broaden my perspective in studying decision making under uncertainty. I am proud of being selected to be part of a group that is recognized worldwide for their contribution in risk studies.

During my studies in Economics and Risk Management I developed a keen interest in studying market behaviour and the strength of the self-regulatory power of markets. I became very passionate about understanding how uncertainty can shape decisions and how it challenges market agents in making rational asset allocation choices. I decided to pursue a PhD because I want to investigate in depth the degree of predictability of irrational behaviour in order to help decision makers develop policies and strategies that accommodate for deviations in rational behaviour present in financial markets.

I decided that the University of Southampton was the right place for my studies because the quality and multidisciplinary background of the academic staff of the Centre for Risk Research allows me to broaden my perspective in studying decision making under uncertainty.
