Setting the Global Agenda for Betting Research

Professor Ming Chien Sung and Professor Johnnie Johnson were recently invited to attend a prestigious international workshop hosted by the Center for the Economic Analysis of Risk (Georgia State University) held at the University of Cape Town, South Africa.

The workshop aimed to establish a global agenda for betting and gaming research and involved a small number of leading researchers from the USA, Canada, Africa, Europe and Asia. Professors Sung and Johnson presented  papers titled: "The value of combining forecasts for profitable trading in the HK horserace betting market" and "Reactions to dynamically changing information in betting markets."
