I have obtained PhD in Social Statistics from University of Southampton. My research interests are: Statistics, longitudinal Studies, multilevel models, social epidemiology, health-related studies, society, socioeconomic inequalities in health, and ageing.

Previously, I worked with department of Epidemiology and Public Health, UCL, where I was involved in various studies and used a number of data sets, e.g. British Birth Cohort 1957 (NCDS), English Longitudinal Study of Ageing (ELSA), Health Survey for England (HSE) and Scottish Health Survey. Most of my work there was concentrated on lifecourse analysis of socioeconomic position (SEP) on biomarkers (using NCDS), regional deprivation and cardiovascular health in an ageing population (ELSA), SEP inequalities in disability (using ELSA) and obesity (using HSE).

At Southampton University, I was part of Third Sector Research Centre (TSRC), where I was involved in a study looking at the associations of volunteering participation and mental well-being among British people. The work was published in BMJ Open with a huge media and press coverage around the world.

At the moment, I am a visitor Researcher at S3RI where I am exploring further my previous work on volunteering with various physical health outcomes.

Research interests

By training I am a Statistician and my research interests are mainly concerned with lifecourse epidemiology and socioeconomic inequalities in health with a particular interest in the modelling techniques in longitudinal studies. Another theme in my current work is related with issues in ageing populations.
