Event details
John Pullinger reflects and reprises his RSS Presidential Address delivered in 2013. He said then 'Although in today's world the information landscape is confused, there is an opportunity for statistics that is there to be seized'. Four years on, statistics are more crucial than ever before in how we all make decisions. About John Pullinger John was appointed as the UK National Statistician, Head of the Government Statistical Service (GSS) and Chief Executive of the UK Statistics Authority in July 2014. The latter role includes executive responsibility for the Office for National Statistics (ONS). In 2004, John Pullinger moved to become the 14th Librarian of the House of Commons. As a member of the House of Commons Management Board, John has worked closely with the Speaker of the House of Commons and several committees in both Houses to develop the connection between Parliament and the public.
