Research project: Bayesian forecasting of immigration into European countries - Dormant - Dormant

Currently Active:
No

This project covers many topics and aims to portray changes in global migration patterns in Europe.

In 2009 Jakub Bijak, together with colleagues from the Central European Forum for Migration and Population Research (CEFMR), worked within an EU-funded project entitled 'Mediterranean and Eastern European countries as new immigration destinations in the European Union' (IDEA). The statistical modelling research involved the preparation of Bayesian forecasts of immigration to selected European countries, based on time series data and formally including the knowledge of migration experts. The project was managed by the Centre for Migration Research (CMR) in Warsaw.
