GC-MS combines gas chromatography with mass spectrometry. Mixtures are separated in time using the GC with each component detected by mass spectrometry utilising electron ionisation or chemical ionisation.
Samples must be volatile, thermally stable and the molecule must be amenable to the appropriate ionisation technique. Samples should be supplied with GC conditions, column type and nominated peaks requiring specific mass spectrometry analysis. Bespoke methods are available upon request.
