HPLC-MS combines reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography with mass spectrometry. Mixtures are separated in time using the HPLC with each component detected by UV and mass spectrometry, the latter utilising a range of atmospheric pressure ionisation techniques.
Samples must be soluble in an appropriate solvent and the molecule must be amenable to the appropriate ionisation technique. Samples can be analysed using a generic organic/water gradient using a reversed-phase C18 column or bespoke method upon request. Samples should be supplied with HPLC conditions (with buffer or ion-pairing information), column type and nominated peaks requiring specific mass spectrometry analysis. HPLC-MS and UHPLC-MS is available.
