SFC-MS combines supercritical fluid chromatography with mass spectrometry. SFC can be considered as a surrogate normal phase (NP) separation technique. Mixtures are separated in time using the SFC with each component detected by UV and mass spectrometry, the latter utilising a range of atmospheric pressure ionisation techniques.
Samples must be soluble in an appropriate solvent and the molecule must be amenable to the appropriate ionisation technique. Bespoke methods can be developed upon request. Samples should be supplied with any existing SFC conditions (co-solvent, additive), column type and nominated peaks requiring specific mass spectrometry analysis.
