SCC Seminar: The potential impact of Brexit on gender equality
On the 5th of December 2019 Dr Julie MacLeavy gave a talk on gendered aspects of Brexit, where she discussed the alleged influence of gender on the Brexit vote and the potential impact of Brexit on gender equality from an interdisciplinary perspective. The seminar was very well attended by academics and students from Law, Business, Sociology and an external from Queen Mary University– Centre for Research on Law, Equality and Diversity).
Dr Julie MacLeavy is a Reader at the University of Bristol (Geographical Sciences School). She is an expert in geographies of political economy, and has written academic articles and blog posts about the gender dimension of Brexit.
