Government Consultation on Flexible Working

The Co-Director of the SCC, Dr Megan Pearson, has submitted a response to the government’s consultation on flexible working, arguing that the right to request flexible working should be extended, allowing employees to make requests from the beginning of their employment and reducing barriers in making requests. Everyone can contribute to the consultation via the BEIS website https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/making-flexible-working-the-default. The closing date for responses is 1st Dec 2021.

 

Her response is part of her broader project examining the current law on balancing care and work and the value care is given in the law.
