Libby qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist from Sheffield Hallam University in 2008 with a BSc (hons) in Physiotherapy.  She is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.

Libby has experience in all core areas of Physiotherapy.  In 2011 she qualified in Aquatic Physiotherapy (with an emphasis on the treatment of neurological conditions) and went on to use this in treating patients with MS in both group and one to one settings.  Following promotion to Senior Physiotherapist, Libby worked on a project with University Hospital Southampton to encourage early supported discharge following which, she worked in the community where she focused on the management and treatment of patients with long term conditions.   In 2015 she qualified in acupuncture and specialised in the use of acupuncture in the management of pain.

In April 2016 Libby joined the MS research team at UHS. She received a National Institute of Health Research studentship to study for a Masters in Clinical and Health Research (2017-2019).
