Recent Archaeological Surveys in Egypt.




Staff from the University of Southampton have been involved in archaeological survey for a number of years in Egypt, focusing on the location and nature of different settlements and cemeteries investigated as part of a number of different projects. This lecture focuses of some of the recent work conducted in Thebes in Upper Egypt, and sites in Middle Egypt and the Nile Delta, looking at the different approaches and methods used, and some of the preliminary results of research.

Why is this important?

Fieldwork techniques and results of work in different locations, highlighting the work of the university, and the cutting edge technologies applied by university staff.
