Seven Slices Through Time or 'Making Connections'

Based around a set of unexpected connections between things from different times and places it encourages the audience to look at events in a longer and wider ethical perspective, to recognise links between past and present, and to consider our individual responsibility to look for such connections.

PowerPoint slides; talk; a piece of Tuf stone, poetry, paintings, funerary sculpture, emblems, etc

Why this is important?

It is ethically important to resist simple compartmentalising of history and privileging of our own over other traditions. It is also important to realise that we are in charge of the process of learning and making connections, and that we are personally empowered by it.

Suggested age range:

It has worked well with different groups from 14-18 years.
