'Faust comes to town': "Creative Destruction" in the Victorian City
The changing face of British cities was highlighted in a talk given by Professor Peter Mandler from Caius College, Cambridge.
Professor Mandler spoke about how the Victorians demolished previous architectural gems to build new cities worthy of the industrial revolution.
The talk is part of History's series of research seminars. Details of next semester's events will be posted on the website in the autumn.
