Music Lecturer's New Book on Opera Buffa in Italy Published

Dr Francesco Izzo's new book, Laughter between Two Revolutions: Opera Buffa in Italy, 1831-1848 , has been published by the University of Rochester Press. This study represents the first substantial assessment of Italian comic operas composed during the central years of Risorgimento -- the period during which upheavals, revolutions, and wars ultimately led to the liberation of Italy.
