Small molecule diffraction

Single crystal X-ray diffraction is the ideal technique to elucidate the molecular structure of a crystalline material. Beyond the molecule, X-ray diffraction reveals interactions between the molecules as they assemble in the solid state.

A result of funding from EPSRC, The University of Southampton, The IfLS and The School of Chemistry, our world leading facility comprises four diffractometers including the most powerful of its type for small molecule crystallography. Our complementary range of instrumentation enables us to probe all areas of science from materials to macromolecules.
