Cristina Musat Medicine BM5, 3rd Year, 2017
Teaching co-ordinator
I am Cristina and I'm a third year medical student.
I was Humanitarian Education secretary for the Southampton office of the British Red Cross, where my role involved setting up and delivering teaching sessions in schools and youth groups on issues relating to HIV and AIDS, as well as migration.
I am an enthusiastic, hardworking and easy-going person and I have an interest in academic medicine. I believe that being able to teach is an essential skill for a doctor, since medicine constantly changes and we have to be able to keep ourselves and our peers up-to-date.I will make best use of the skills that I have acquired to make the teaching sessions within the INSPIRE Academic Society valuable and well attended.
As a teaching co-ordinator, I will try to get as many students involved in teaching, since I would like them to benefit from this highly rewarding experience and to further nourish their enthusiasm by sharing their knowledge with their peers. I will try to choose the topics that students struggle most with and then recruit teachers, on the basis of their skills and level of motivation. I will make sure the teaching events are well organized, publicized and run smoothly and timely.
