Hi, I’m Danielle and I am one of the Student Leads!

In my first year, I attended talks and events held by both the Academic Society and Inspire, which later merged to become SIAS. Last year, I was pleased to be Year 2 Representative, where I took on an active role within the society.

Since the  the two original societies merged, SIAS has gone from strength to strength. I see great potential in the society to do even more to encourage students to consider a career in research and academia, so I am excited to oversee and aid in the development of the many excellent ideas our committee has for the coming year.

Alongside my desire to care for others, my interest in science and innovation was a key feature in my decision to study medicine. I hope that one day, I will make a scientific discovery that will improve patient wellbeing. But until then, I will continue striving to learn more and understand more, while having fun on the way!
