Final year Rep

I am in my final year of medicine (MMedSci), and my third year of INSPIRE.

Last year, Nicola and I were student leads which involved kickstarting INSPIRE’s activities and establishing links with students, clinical academics and the faculty. We’re taking a back seat this year as final year reps, supporting our fantastic new committee as they develop INSPIRE and SAS further!

I have been interested in research since my first year, when I was fortunate enough to undertake an internship with CRUK. My fourth year project studied the effects of chemotherapy on T-cell mitochondria. We are really fortunate here in Southampton to have a huge variety of clinicians and academics willing to support medical students, and I am passionate about helping more students to get involved with research and teaching. In the future, I would like to become an academic ENT or general surgeon. Outside of medicine, I work part time as an HCA. I am a big fan of sports and the outdoors; I love rugby, cycling and horse riding. I am also working towards commissioning into the army medical corps.
