Hello, my name is Akash and I’m the Mentorship and Portfolio Lead for 2016-17!

I’m passionate about research in medicine, with interests in stem cell research, genomics and pharmacology.

I’m looking to connect students with academics for projects/research opportunities, which is my motivation for joining SIAS. I’m hoping to make it easier for mentors and mentees to foster successful working relationships, by adapting the current Mentorship Scheme to suit the changing needs of students and academics. I would ultimately like there to be more accessibility for students to develop their portfolios/CVs for career development, so I will be planning events/drop-in sessions this year to achieve this.
